Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ is a scholar specializing in history, women's studies, and gender equality, bridging academia, the public sector, and international institutions.
As Head of the History Department and Director of the Women's Studies Center at Nişantaşı University, she shapes her academic work around social impact. After completing her education at Ankara University, she conducted postdoctoral research at Middle East Technical University and Binghamton University.
In addition to her academic roles at İnönü University and Yıldız Technical University, she served as Head of the R&D Unit at the General Directorate on the Status of Women from 2011 to 2018, playing an active role in public policy and implementation.
A UN Women 'Global Champion', she continues to contribute to women's economic empowerment and social transformation through her work with UNESCO Turkey National Commission and various civil society organizations.

With over 15 years of experience in cultural heritage and museology, she is an expert who transforms visitor experience by bringing together content, space, and storytelling. From exhibition design to teacher training and heritage-focused event and game concepts, she turns cultural spaces into living experiences.
Following her leadership in marketing and communications at Istanbul Modern and Arter, she now offers strategic and creative solutions to museum and cultural projects through Komet, the company she co-founded.
As a member of the Bergama Culture and Arts Foundation's Cultural Heritage Commission, she develops projects for the preservation, documentation, and promotion of tangible and intangible heritage, while leading collaborative partnerships across stakeholders.
As a scientific board member and trainer within the Ministry of National Education, she contributes to content development and capacity building in museum education, while also providing marketing and communications consultancy in the creative industries.
